Always love to see these red boxes! And nicely composed to have the Shard in the background (that is called the Shard, isn't it?)
Bill Phillips: It is indeed and below it is Tate Modern
True...I hope you didn't take any phone numbers....smile
Bill Phillips: I can't imagine what you mean Frank wink

You are right. There is Tate Mod over there, which has definitely become a latter day icon..
Bill Phillips: Not forgetting the Shard which is a bit of a marmite building

Are such phone boxes full of cards bearing phone numbers of ladies like for a nice gentleman such as yourself? I bet this phone box appears in thousands of selfies from people around the world. I've not been to the Shard yet.
Bill Phillips: I would have no idea Alan. I am an innocent from the sticks

I would like to visit the shard

Alan has today a blooming phantasy, see also Chris' blog!
Bill Phillips: Yes I have seen both. The McCullin exhibition is excellent. I went a few weeks ago.

I saw one painted black in London on Wednesday
Bill Phillips: Is nothing sacred?????
I prefer the foreground icon!
Bill Phillips: I think I do too
I'm with Tom, from the pictures I see of London, not having been there for many, many years, I prefer the old London skyline as it was, to me noew and old just do not mix, apart perhaps for the Gherkin which be be o.k. if it was further downriver a bit.
Bill Phillips: I have mixed feeling really Brian. I actually like the Shard and the Gherkin and there are many wonderful buildings in London. I am just glad I don't live or work there
This box seems unused. Some have been fancied up.
Bill Phillips: I think this one might actually have had a phone in it
They must be a big draw for Tourists
Nous avons une cabine comme celle-ci à  Brest.
Bill Phillips: That's interesting. They are increasingly rare here now which is a shame as they are very much part of out heritage
