Nice capture on the Heron - They're so elegant... too bad about the trash.
Happy Birthday, Brian!
Bill Phillips: Sadly typical E.
Nice shot of the Heron, Bill. I see the ubiquitous plastic bottle...Sad.
Bill Phillips: The great British public have been leaving mountains of litter and worse at beauty spots around the country.

This is true!
Bill Phillips: and Mr Heron was not fooled
HAHA. You're right, Bill! And yes, Happy Birthday to Brian.
Bill Phillips: It is depressing right now watching the news and seeing the vast amounts of litter left behind at beauty spots. The English are, frankly, disgusting

And that heron is about to eat a plastic bottle..
Bill Phillips: Happily he realised that it was not edible

I hope he knows the difference between a bottle and a fish sad...
Great moment here and I know how hard it is to get "close" to a heron.
Happy birthday, Brian.
Bill Phillips: Happily he did. Sadly people are celebrating being able to go out again by leaving vast amounts of litter

The bird might not be interested in the bottle? A lovely image!
Bill Phillips: Happily he wasn't Philine

A heron, a moorhen and 4 ducks. One plastic to share. The heron is checking whether a fight would warrant the prize.

Littering is somewhat universal. Those countries that seem to litter less, just have better cleaning systems. It always amazes me that a person can just drop his/her litter like that. The self-assured idea that some lesser being will pick it up behind him/her.
Bill Phillips: It makes me very angry Louis.

No fooling the Heron ...
Bill Phillips: A wise old bird, just like you comrade
Thanks for the birthday wish Bill. I get really worked upo when I see in the media what these ignoramuses leave behind, it really seems to have kicked off since the lockdown was eased, and it's not all youngsters in their late teens and early 20's, but older folks as well.
Bill Phillips: It beggars belief Brian, I really don't know what is wrong with people
Let's hope he finds a wee frog or fishy.
Bill Phillips: He found a fish but I didn't get a shot!
Great capture, Bill
Bill Phillips: Pleased you think so Tom
