Lido

Sadly not open because of the pandemic and looking in need of a bit of a clean up before it does finally open again. The Lido in Droitwich is salt water ....well you would expect that. Due to re-open on August 1st

Let us hope it does not deteriorate too much while dormant, Bill.
Bill Phillips: Happily it is now prepared for reopening. The weeds have gone and the covers are off the pool.
this does look a bit astonishing, Bill. near my apartment block, the roadside grass is almost a pleasant looking meadow
Bill Phillips: It has been cleaned up now ready fro reopening on Aug 1st.

Very art deco, that building. Let's hope the kiddos of Droitwich will soon be happily splashing about again
Bill Phillips: The weeds have now gone and it is ready for the planned reopening on Aug 1st. It is indeed Art Deco

Then it will be cleaned up again. Do you visit it with Joseph and Ted?
Bill Phillips: Yes the weeds have now gone Philine and it is ready for the planned reopening on Aug 1st. We have never taken the boys there and we have seldom been there either. The water tends to be very cold and in good weather it is a bit of a sun trap and the queues to get in are very long

Don’t they put chlorine in swimming pools Bill, and doesn’t that kill bad stuff?
Bill Phillips: This is salt water and I don't know if they put Chlorine in it. Donald Trump could advise you I imagine
Just in time for winter smile
Bill Phillips: You know about English summers then rob?

The lido in Beccles , a nearby town, is open again
Bill Phillips: That is good news for the good folk of Beccles
There is an outdoor Lido not far from us at Ashby-de-la-Zouch but I don't know if it has opened yet.
Bill Phillips: As far as I can tell the Lido in Ashby is not open yet

It does seem to have been rather neglected. I hope of the pool.
Bill Phillips: It has now been cleaned up and the weeds have gone. The pool is scheduled to open on August 1st but I don't think the splash pad will be opened
it is going to need a big cleanup Bill... i'm sure that it will be done soon....petersmile
Bill Phillips: It has now been cleaned up and the weeds have gone. The pool is scheduled to open on August 1st but I don't think the splash pad will be opened
I saw a splash pad open but only so many children at once so limited time slots.
Bill Phillips: The pool is due to reopen but I don't think they will be opening the splash pad. The pool is saltwater
It has a kind of American feel to the shot, Bill.
