A splendid action image IMHO
Bill Phillips: I am obliged to you
HAHA, Bill. It's delightful.
Bill Phillips: He's a regular. I had just come down with my camera to have it handy to get a bird having a bath when he appeared!

Haha - wonderful!
Bill Phillips: It is lovely watching them having a bath. A friend of mine gave me this bird bath as they didn't want it and we said we would have it!

A wonderful picture Bill, you have captured this instant very well. Did you need many takes?
Bill Phillips: 27 duds and this one

A member of the thrush family. I believe you guys refer to it as a black bird.
The vigour makes up for the lack of soap.
Bill Phillips: Yes a blackbird it is Louis with the wonderful name of Turdus Merula grin
Very good Bill, I need a longer lens for this. I have been trying for this shot all lockdown.
Bill Phillips: This was using the 50-230 lens which at f6.7 at 230mm is slow. Even then sitting in the house this picture has been cropped quite a bit. A 300 or 400mm prime lens would be so much better...but I dare not look at the price
A brash splash before a dash
Bill Phillips: or a wash if you are posh
Excellent capture!
Bill Phillips: Thank you kindly Care....you haven't see the other 27 pictures grin
I really like this. After heavy rain the water lays on the flat roof of our garage for a while before draining away and the Pigeons delight in having communal baths, I don't know why I've never taken someshots of them from our bedroom window.
Bill Phillips: Thanks Brian. This bird bath is well placed for a shot from inside the living room with the patio door open
Splendid shot Bill!
Bill Phillips: Thanks very much Martin

I bet that felt good! I like the action you have frozen here.
Bill Phillips: He was very enthusiastic! 28 shots to get this one!
Nicely focussed and action packed, Bill.
Bill Phillips: It took a lot of shots to get lucky
