What a lovely lawn - specked with leaves!
Bill Phillips: An area very popular with dog walkers

A natural flood plain
Bill Phillips: It is. The racecourse and cricket ground flood pretty well every winter
En cas d'inondation cela doit être surprenant !
Très belle photo .
Bill Phillips: It is particularly interesting to see the racecourse and cricket ground (which lies beyond the race course ) under water!

Pity the tree tops are missing.
Bill Phillips: This was a feeble attempt at a panorama and I should have taken more time and trouble
I slept in an area like that in a tent. Unaware that it flooded in heavy rain, of course.
Bill Phillips: and did it rain?
I seem to recall seeing pictures in the media of this area being flooded earlier this year. I like the two trees, when getting old and the other still flourishing.
Bill Phillips: A large part of this and the adjoining Gheluvelt park was under water earlier this year.

awh, too bad it bloods. what a fine panoramic.
Bill Phillips: It is part of the natural flood plain and as such helps to defend the rest of the city from flooding
it shows nice depth Bill but you cropped off that beautiful tree to get the letterbox effectgrin....petersmile
Bill Phillips: It is a panorama shot of 5 pictures Peter and I made a bit of a mess of it!

Better than having houses and businesses flooded, I should think.
