I like the snap. That advert looks pathetic by modern standards of advertising.
Bill Phillips: The advert manages to be even worse than the snap

My first car was a Triumph Herald 1200. I liked the fact that you could open the bonnet and climb inside to work on the engine. Rust saw the end of the car, though. Modern car adverts seem to be shot at night and actually quite difficult to see the car properly.
Bill Phillips: My mother loved hers. You could take the whole front end off if you wanted to. Being on a separate chassis meant they were both obsolete from the first day they were built but an ideal car to restore as everything was bolted together
It always scares me for a moment when I see a right side driver
Bill Phillips: Hahaha I have the same problem watching American films. We have been watching Cardinal and when they are talking in the car I have to think about which one is supposed to be pretending to drive
I don't really think Triumph Herald's were meant for off roading. As for the advert, can you imagine the hoo-ha it would make today.
Bill Phillips: They also had an alarming tendency for the back wheels to jackknife up into the bottom of the car with very unfortunate consequences.

I bet he used to have one, Bill
Bill Phillips: Apparently he learned to drive in one and Alan Rolfe had one as his first car. My mother had 3 at various times and I used one of them for a while. It wasn't a bad car in its day

hmm, well done, my friend
Bill Phillips: I was trying things I had been watching in a tutorial on Photoshop and decided to have a bit of fun grin
you had better not let Tiff test drive even the old cars Bill... he seems challenged keeping them on the road....petersmile

i love the video...smile
Bill Phillips: He is a reckless devil Peter!

Not very PC is it?
Ah, memories. I had a 1300 estate. Loved it. (I wonder if the exhaust system is still in ditch somewhere on the Newmarket bypass!)
