I listen to Carols from Kings on Christmas day
Bill Phillips: I usually try to listen too it too
This is lovely music to accompany your photo. A friend told me this morning that he would like to join a choir.

Your photo has the perfect makings for a swirl.
Bill Phillips: Choirs have become very popular here

One my favourite carols is "Carol of the Bells". The carols and Nine Lessons from Kings on Christmas eve is when Christmas starts for me. Alas, no more Stephen Cleobury, though.
Bill Phillips: I read that he had died...and no great age either!
The Holly and the Ivy isn't one of my most favourite carols, which begs the question as to why I refer to it on my Christmas day post! Back in the late 50's Kings College chapel had special daytime services/recitals for local school during the weeks leading up to Christmas and one year, about 1959 I was fortunate enough to go, I have always remembered it, partly because of all the choral asinging I've done myself since I suppose.
Bill Phillips: Nor mine but my favourite will come up tomorrow. I cn imagine how you will have remembered. When I was in the voluntary choir in Exeter Cathedral we were once taken up into the organ loft to listen to the choristers practising and it was a fantastic experience
