Is this one known as the ‘airborne castle’?
Bill Phillips: Not to my knowledge. Nor was it known as the sky-high shed. There was, as you well know, the B17 Flying Fortress, which was an American bomber

I now realise that part of the success of these pictures, is the wonderful build quality, that helps make these planes look real. Your search lights is a great asset to the picture. Next time include a smokiness (or some smoke puffs) as well.

With this excellent picture, you can actually create a lot of awesome pictures.
Bill Phillips: They are superbly made. flak shells exploding might bee gilding the lily grin

Oh very nice. Memories of the Dambusters in this. I see that squadron are getting he new F35s.
Bill Phillips: I didn't know that. Apparently they are not as good as they are cracked up to be...In fact at top speed they only have a flight time of about 7.5 minutes which is a round trip of about 160 miles. According to a leaked document from the Pentagon the plane can start to crack up if flown at its max speed for any length of time. Mind you by the time it has taken off and landed that's probably only about 25 minutes anyway. No matter they are a snip at £92 million and rising and, apparently, we will eventually have 138 of them
The lights add to the shot here.
Bill Phillips: That was my intention Mary so I m pleased you think they do
A fine shot of a great aircraft. Back in the 90's. a fine elderly gentleman used to stand next to me at choir and during the war he piloted one of these planes, I found it hard to imagine because a) he was by then quite old and b) he wasn't much more than about 5' or a bit over tall. Sadly of course he has passed on by now but it was a privilege knowing him.
Bill Phillips: They were incredibly brave people. We owe them a lot
Great shot, Bill!
Bill Phillips: Thanks very much Tom
Wow, that is effective!
