University of Birmingham

Last one. Taken from beneath the Clock tower. The story goes that if a student is walking under here when it chimes he or she will fail their degree!

There was much more to see than I have shown and I really will have to go back.

An architectural contrast to yesterday. Nicely composed again.
Bill Phillips: There is quite a mix of buildings on the site.
Jolies arcades qui donnent sur le parc.
Bill Phillips: Thanks Martine. They are indeed

a wonderful composition! I found it better if he or she would be successful while walking under here.
Bill Phillips: Only a problem if the clock chimes Philine.

I think students failing degrees is a rare thing these days; don't they just have to put their name on the paper to get at least a 2nd? If the story is correct, the students will probably hang back until the clock has chimed.
Bill Phillips: I will not comment on the first part as my family relies on the eduction system for their livelihood

On the second part I am sure the students are well aware of the story and don't risk it!
A viewpoint designed for photographers.
Bill Phillips: It is rather isn't it? grin
A good viewpoint from the shade.
Bill Phillips: Thanks Mary. It seemed an obvious snap to take
Spot on, right place and lighting. There is much of Birmingham we have yet to discover. What we have found we really like
Bill Phillips: We lived in Brum in the 70s when it wasn't very nice. There were some lovely parks but the centre of the city was pretty grotty. It is becoming much better and there are some great places like the Symphony hall which are as good as anything anywhere
I love you POV, Bill! Lovely comp!
Bill Phillips: Thank you kindly E
great framing from inside of the arched entrance under the clock tower Bill... i enjoyed this series....petersmile
Bill Phillips: Pleased you have enjoyed it Peter. I must go back sometime and discover more of the campus
Visited there many years ago - but without a camera!
Bill Phillips: It is only the second time I have been there Tom and I have lived in the area for getting on for 50 years!
very nice composition and great light
Bill Phillips: Thank you Alan
