Minehead on a wet day

Actually it only rained in the evening and then it passed over and your intrepid snapper ventured out from the warmth of his car to take this.

should have stayed in the car

I have actually had a canvas print made of this and I really am pleased with the result

I agree this is a good picture. You could twiddle it in many sorts of ways
Bill Phillips: Well indeed you could.
Good for you, Bill. The spots of red really add to this splendid image for me.
Bill Phillips: Thanks Ginnie. The only real twiddle here was to increase the saturation of those buoys

This is wonderful, Bill. That one boat and the touch of red and the white in the back.
Bill Phillips: Thanks Lady P. As I said to Ginnie the only real twiddle was to. increase the saturation of those buoys

Something for one of the lounges at your country mansion? Now I have to say That I would be rather naught and clone out that pole and I would probably move the bottom buoy up and to the right to give a little more balance to the image.
Bill Phillips: Fair comment Sir. Looking at it on the wall downstairs I don't have strong feelings about the pole and never felt the need to get rid of it. Moving the buoy would have been a good idea, particularly as how it has been cropped for the print it is right at the bottom.

A great landscape, I believe. Especially with the red accents. Those white tents in the background - I am still trying to figure out whether they add to the picture or not. PS. we have a shopping centre near my house with a similar roof and I know that on its own (especially with sunset) one can make great pictures of it.
Bill Phillips: Thanks Louis. I like the tents and they are so much a part of the Sea front in Minehead. I remember the original Butlins and this is a vast improvement grin
A fine shot Bill, did you ever venture round to Butlins, we didn't bother while we were there? Re Alans suggestion perhaps the pole could have been cloned out or shortened from the top a bit but if you moved the bouy then you would have to do something whith the chain it is attached to, not such an easy twiddle.
Bill Phillips: Where we are going at the end of this month is only about a couple of hundred of yards from Butlins but it is highly unlikely we will set foot in there! The pole could have been cloned but it doesn't bother me. I would move the chain and the buoy but, to be honest, where it is is Ok grin

boats with the tide out seem so sad
Bill Phillips: Yes there is something rather forlorn and helpless about them
This is a really lovely image- I'm sure it looks great on canvas!
Bill Phillips: Well I am pleased with it smile
