Cette pompe ଆ essence est une antiquité.

More delights. Who may I ask is the geezer with the red wreath. A war hero?
Bill Phillips: Sir William Tennant who was a senior Naval officer at Dunkirk and various other events during WW2

Aahhh.. I remember pumps like that. I can even recall one which had a hand pump to dispense the fuel. From the days before the Government saw the motorist at a cash cow. The shop looks interesting.
Bill Phillips: I remember them too. I also remember putting a quid's worth of petrol in my mini and it lasting the week!

a charity Acorns shop like in Droitwich! Yes, we have gone back in time, but back to the good old days?
Bill Phillips: Indeed it is and we popped in and had a chat with them. The good old days are a myth but in some ways I felt safer when we had the threat of nuclear war between the US and the USSR because you felt it would never happen. Now we see the rise again of the far right and Nationalism and it worries me very much
Is that pump still functional!?
Bill Phillips: I would very much doubt it Tom
There seems to be a lot to see at Upton, I love the old petrol pump.
Bill Phillips: A nice little town to have an afternoon wandering about
Another interesting looking shop.
Bill Phillips: Acorns is a children's hospice charity shop. Ange and I are volunteers at the one in Droitwich.

Great overview. Yonder pump seems to still be serving the gallons.
Bill Phillips: I don't think it has served them for many years. We have litres now.
You will have to change your style before you come up north.
Bill Phillips: Not a cat in Hell's chance. The north will have to adapt
Strange to see gallons on the meter when we've been using the metric system for so long now. Upton upon Severn looks to be an interesting place for the photographer, Bill.
Bill Phillips: If petrol was still priced in Gallons we would get a shock here Beverly Here the price would be about £5.45 a gallon!
it is a nice little town Bill... is that old gas pump still in use... the hose and handle look new....petersmile
Bill Phillips: No Peter. We haven't used gallons in many years now
