so much more advanced than the USA
Bill Phillips: Really? Your trains must be awful!
This does seem a bit dark...

A bit Blackdog-esque, I think I prefer yesterday's too

With regard to these brand new Hitachi trains they seem to have spoiled the ship for a hap'orth of tar. And yes, the seating is quite sub standard. Even in first class it's not that special..
Bill Phillips: This is a case of overdoing it

I was with a friend of mine who commented that the bullet train in Japan is quieter at 300mph than this thing was trundling down to London

Me too.
Bill Phillips: That is a relief.....I feared you might prefer this
Yes, me too!
Bill Phillips: Thanks Tom
Yesterdays picture had the train more in context. I worked at Paddington station for a couple of years in the early 70's.
Bill Phillips: I agree Brian. Yes I think I knew you worked there

Me, too. This is getting a bit towards the black cat in a coal cellar look to it.
Bill Phillips: With its eyes closed

Heck!!!! Why do you have to make it a competition ….?
Bill Phillips: I wasn't aware that it was a competition comrade, merely an observation on my part
