a fascinating village

the water must be at low tide ?
Bill Phillips: Yes this is low tide. Minehead is on the Bristol Channel which has the second greatest tidal range in the world.
Nice shot Bill.
Bill Phillips: Thank you Frank

A fine image, Bill.

I am enjoying the thought of you standing waist deep in mud while matting it.
Bill Phillips: Glad I took my waders Ray
Jolie vue de cette petite ville.
Bill Phillips: It is a charming place Martine
You had some beautiful light that day!
Bill Phillips: Early November sunshine E. It was dark about an hour and a half later grin

Very interesting, I haven't seen the place from this angle before. The shiny mud and distant figures really do act as a splendid foreground to this townscape
Bill Phillips: Next time I go I want to have a good wander up to that church

It;'s a lovely place; I like all the grand houses rising up the hillside to get a view of the mud and sand.
Bill Phillips: It is Alan. We were very taken with it. My only memory before was staying at Butlitz in the early 60s so it was quite a revelation to discover how nice it really is

Nice. You have captured the best part of the town.
Bill Phillips: It is the best part. I was surprised how well maintained most of Minehead is

How attractive this looks. I have happy memories of Minehead, as this is where the South West Coast Path started when we walked it in the 90s, only 600 miles!
Bill Phillips: I took a picture of the statue of the hand with the map and thought of you smile
Love the contrast between the beach/tidal plain and the rolling country hillsides in the background.
Bill Phillips: It is quite a contrast Ian

This must be a nice little town, often mentioned by SCers like Chris, Alan (childhood holidays), Brian ... Yourself enjoyed your last holidays here with Joseph, Ted ...
Bill Phillips: We were very taken with it Philine and I think Helen would like to go there again next year if possible
Very nice soft light here in this pretty photo.
Bill Phillips: Afternoon light in early November Mary
We really enjoyed our time in Minehead, and the surrounding area as well. This is a fine viewpoint.
Bill Phillips: We enjoyed it and were lucky with the early November weather!
A lovely scene, Bill. Those green hills in the background and the church tower gives depth to the image.
Bill Phillips: Thanks Beverly. I like how all the buildings seem to nestle into the hillside
