Une belle journée qui marquait la fin de cette triste guerre.
Bill Phillips: It was a terrible war that need never have happened. Sadly we don't seem to have learnt anything and our exit from the EU shows just how little we have learned here in the UK
Very good, Bill.
Bill Phillips: Says it all for me really E. Sadly whilst we don't forget we don't seem to learn either

A significant day indeed..
Bill Phillips: It is. We will be handing out the service sheets at the memorial in town this morning. For the last several years our Lions club has done the printing. I plan to watch the Peter Jackson film on BBC2 tonight and am recording it as well as 11pm is late for us !

We have been remembering from childhood
Bill Phillips: We have Lisl. My dad was in Burma with the RAF and he didn't talk about the war much. He was away for over 3 years and I think he just wanted to forget it and have a family life
Church bells all over Canada are to ring at sundown marking the 100th anniversary of the end of the war.
Bill Phillips: We have had that here and beacons have been lit across the country
I really like your treatment of this simple Memorial, Bill.
Bill Phillips: Thank you Beverly

We have one outside the priory, its outline was shadowed against the priory wall during the Light up Lancaster event -a timely and sombre reminder
Bill Phillips: Sometimes the simplest memorial is the most effective
Very thoughtful image and your processing really suits it well.
Bill Phillips: Thank you Brian
