I remember my reading of "1984" at school and the discussions with my students. Wise words! We are in Richard's Southwold.
Bill Phillips: It is a wonderful book. I really must read it again one day

One of my favourite authors, though I don't like "1984" or "Animal Farm"
Bill Phillips: The only one of his books I couldn't get into was the road to Wigan Pier. My favourite is Keep the Aspidistra flying

I liked this, thought it cheered up a blank space and was a fitting tribute to a significant personality
Bill Phillips: I agree
Man. And back in the day, we wondered if we would ever see 1984! Wow. Talk about perspective.
Bill Phillips: It should be compulsory reading
A good person to make a tribute for. !984 is so long ago now.
Bill Phillips: But the book is still relevant today. The title was chosen as a date somewhere in the future and as it was written in 1948 he just reversed the last two numbers

Anything that celibrates this towering genius of 20th century gets my attention, Bill.
Bill Phillips: He was a remarkable man Ray
very nicely done, Bill. i have read Animal Farm but yet to read 1984.
Bill Phillips: 1984 is well worth reading Ayush.
A man with vision, Big Brother is always watching us .
Bill Phillips: He was right about a lot of things
I've read both 1984 and Animal Farm although it was so long ago I can't recall much about the stories. I ought to re-read them but I've just at this moment got hooked on James Patterson and David Baldacci, having read every single Jack Reacher story.
Bill Phillips: I have actually read all of George Orwell's books and re-read Keep the aspidistra flying not so long ago. It is a long time since I read 1984. I have read all the Reacher books and all of the DCI banks ones and most of the Michael Connelly Harry Bosch ones. Not a fan of Patterson
