Southfield Stores

The Arboretum is an area of Victorian houses around the canal area and wandering through (following Kathryn who knew where she was going ) we came across this little gem. Look at those lovely green tiles

How does a shop like this exist ? The tiles are nice.
Bill Phillips: I actually wonder whether it is a shop now but has just kept the shopfront and decorated it to keep the look. The front door looks like a proper front door and not a shop entrance
It does look very nice!
Bill Phillips: I just love the tiles

Bill Phillips: Lovely aren't they? There are a couple of very good Victorian pubs in Worcester too

Very nice - the lovely old -English shops - but do they sell here?
Bill Phillips: I have a sneaky feeling they don't sell anything but have just kept the old shopfront and decorated it to look like a shop

I thought an aboretum was a load of trees. I was based at Aborfield near Reading. That might have been a field full of trees. Now that does t make sense.
Bill Phillips: You thought correctly Chad. Our road is called Willow Drive but there are no willows.
It's good to see these old fashioned shop fronts still about, but I think you are right about its current use going by that door.
Bill Phillips: I will ask my daughter Kathryn to see if she knows
I love the small lane to the right. Very English looiking.
Bill Phillips: The Arboretum is all very Victorian terraces Care

From a time when life was a lot more simple than it is now.
Bill Phillips: It was simpler 12 months ago than it is now grin
Lovely stuff!
Bill Phillips: Thanks tom. It was a pleasant surprise!

Bill Phillips: Those glossy Victorian tiles are wonderful
What a fine scene. I've had a glass of wine tonight and can't quite get the perspective of the street on the right. A visit to Worcester is obviously required.
