photoblog image A visit to Ludlow 1

A visit to Ludlow 1

Ludlow….is probably the loveliest town in England with its hill of Georgian houses ascending from the river Teme to the great tower of the cross-shaped church, rising behind a classic market building.” – John Betjeman, 1943

It is a very nice town and who am I to argue with Betjeman?

I agree that it’s difficult to disagree with Johnny. If he was talking about Redditch then I would be concerned.
Bill Phillips: I would think he was off his trolley

I love the architecture and your collage, Bill. Your pictures show it was a great day out.

I like Betjeman for what he achieved … Though he was a pompous snob with a fun sense of humour and he valued cultural and architectural quality. His poetry is very accessible to simple guys like me.
Bill Phillips: A bit unkind to call him a pompous snob comrade
A nice montage Bill, never been so I'll take Mr Betjamans word for it.
Bill Phillips: Worth a visit

Quite a variety of architecture, I've never seen a yellow Tudor building.
Bill Phillips: I suspect that is nearer to the true colour. Black and white was a Victorian invention I think
Another place we've only visited briefly one day, we would like to go abck one day. You've captured some of the beautiful buildings very well.
Bill Phillips: Worth it if you get the chance. Next time we go we will probably use the park and ride
Visited many years ago - must get back one of these days.
Bill Phillips: Worth making the effort Tom. It was a few years since we last went
Ludlow is a colourful town and you captured these pictures on a nice sunny day Bill....petersmile
