Bill Phillips: Cheers Richa. The arch is the underside of rather a nice bridge. The canal comes to a dead end here by the lime Kilns.

Fantastic angle, Bill. The arch of metalwork is wonderful, as are the reflections. I like it like this, but I understand your quandry because I think it would also look great in b and w, or selectively coloured. Sorry....your decision - I would dither, too. lol! (:o)

Textures tones patterns structure reflections are all good quality ingredients. Just needs a good stir and turned out in black and white onto a blank palate. richard.

The yellow of the leaves quite compliment the boat, Bill, so it's good you did NOT use selective color on just the boat's yellow. But I agree that this would also do well in B&W. That or this.

HATE IT?

I love it. The way you have captured that arch of the bridge highlighting in detail this industrial structure is superb. The reflection on the water is wonderful and I like the way the light catches the foot gripping path under the bridge. B&W might also be good - I would hesitate about using b&w plus yellow highlight. It is very difficult to pull this technique off and some people do not like it at all. It would have to be super subtle and would have to give more than just a 'look how clever I am' feel about it.
