Clent May 2008
We are now into May and the bluebells are out...no I know there aren't any on this picture I'm just setting the scene. This picture is untwiddled and there will be several more untwiddled as well. But I may not be able to resist for long

This is lovely Bill: the Clent Hills perhaps? I beg you to keep twiddleage to a minimum for delightful shots like this!
Bill Phillips: The Clent Hills indeed. Twiddleage is suspended for these pictures. I can't compete with your technique
Very pastoral, just the way I imagine the British countryside to look.
Bill Phillips: And it is slap in the middle of the West Midlands conurbation, Birmingham,Wolverhampton, Halesowen, Stourbridge etc. etc. Can all be seen from the hills and the M5 and M6 motorways are close by. As you listen to the birds sing they are accompanied by the susurration of traffic in the distance.
Gorgeous! This place, as so many you capture, must be wonderful to see in person. I can imagine quietness, fresh air and the sun shining on me. It is so tranquil.

I so love untwiddled. The soil looks red there too.
Bill Phillips: I thought you would Mary. There is a lot of sandstone up here which probably explains the red. You would love to walk up here I think, even if you didn't want a bacon sandwich afterwards
This photo reminds me of the song .. On A Clear Day you Can see Forever.
Bill Phillips: Up here you can!
Nicely untwiddled
Bill Phillips: My fingers twitched but I resisted!
No need to re-invent the wheel when you post shots like this. richard
Bill Phillips: Thank you Richard. It doesn't really need any help from me does it?
I can't see any bluebells in this picture, Bill. I want my money back! I like the way the curve to the land contrasts with the straight line of the frame. Works well. i would rather have the complete cloud so perhaps you should have got there earlier. The bluebells have been fantastic here too, and the wild garlic and the primroses
Bill Phillips: I told you I'm just setting the scene, building up the anticipation for what is to come, whetting the appetite. OK?? TOMORROW you will see bluebells!
This was taken on Wednesday and the haze never quite lifted all day. I want to get some pictures when you can see the far distance cos it is amazing
Laughing at Chris Phillips suggesting you ease up on the twiddling.
Bill Phillips: Pot and Kettle??
Super landscape,Bill
Bill Phillips: Thanks very much vintage
Superb pastoral composition Bill. I really like the softness of the image!
Bill Phillips: Thank you Richard.
I know you, Bill. Like me, some twiddling is irresistible. So just go at it.
In the meantime, this is one curvaceous countryside!
Bill Phillips: I have a special lined up for tomorrow that you might enjoy...I know it is Saturday but just have a peek.
This shot shouts PEACE !!! Well taken ..
Bill Phillips: It was nice just sitting there!
Some wonderful colours in the shot. beautiful and peaceful. Looks as though this weekend is going to be the same weather as well
Bill Phillips: I'm on duty up there on Sunday so I hope they are right!
lol, no the scene is perfect as it is Bill great shot
Bill Phillips: I've had a twiddle for tomorrow but it is a special
No more twiddling while you can post such lovely landscapes as these Bill. This can't be more than about 60 - 75 minutes from us, (M42 allowing), must run out that way sometime,
Bill Phillips: Not far from Junction 4 on the M5. Well worth a visit. The bacon sandwiches alone are worth a visit
These views I miss in Holland, that wide hilly country...the colours are so wonderfull, I could walk here for hours and hours and be a very happy person, thank you so much for sharing.
Bill Phillips: You would love it up here Astrid, there are over 400 acres up here and you can walk for miles. The views are amazing. You could see Tracy too and go to Cannock Chase as where she lives is not all that far away.
Keep up the good work Bill. If you resist for long enough, before you know it your addiction to twiddling will be overcome! With such glorious scenery, there is no need to twiddle anyway - nature can't be bettered.
Ingrid
Bill Phillips: I love twiddling. I like to give my own take on it. If I could paint I would have no need to twiddle. However, I still like trying to take a decent photograph in the first place
oh please twiddle away, non twiddling is overrated in my books
smashing shot (twiddled or no) by the way
Bill Phillips: I am incurable Doc! So no danger of me stopping
My compliments on your restraint Bill - looks great ;o)
Bill Phillips: Thanks Mike. There will be more!!
I hate to butt in - but my Learned Friend (from in front of a catseye) wouldn't know a primrose or bluebell from a motorway intersection!
Bill Phillips: I thought you said he was a son of the soil. Well you said he was a bit of a sod anyway.
Truly beautiful scenery Bill. I particularly like the gentle curve in teh foreground, it makes the picture even more special.
Bill Phillips: Thanks Ellie. It is wonderful up here...and they pay me!!!
