A charming shot of a very well known place. This street, I think it's called Vicars Close, is wider at one end than the other to make it seem longer and therefore more aesthetically pleasing
Bill Phillips: It is also claimed to be the oldest intact residential street in Europe. The widening is a clever touch

An authentic medieval street almost unspoilt. The black and white gives it a ancient feel
Bill Phillips: It is a gem Elisabeth as is the cathedral

Yes, I recall -and a fine image with the Cathedral in the background on a sunny day -I like the old pavement. Mostly I cannot listen to the videos -but in this case I don't miss it -Wells is only my Cathedral Wells!
Bill Phillips: smile It is the most wonderful place Philine.
The empty milkbottles would rattle well as the milk van trundled along. Fine image mr phillips
Bill Phillips: I thank you for your praise Mr Trim
Wonderful composition Bill. I like your B&W conversion here!

Is this Redditch Bill?
Bill Phillips: Astwood bank, just down from the Co-op Chad
Like the treatment in B&W Bill now this place well, live not far away.
Great song to go with it.
Bill Phillips: Lucky you. I hadn't been to Wells for a long time and then went twice in a matter of weeks last year!

Could light and no passers-by, an opportunity you took full advantage of Bill. Looks great.
Bill Phillips: If you look carefully there are a couple of figures under the arch!

This really is the best B.& W.I have seen from you Bill, everything is just right, especially the composition, and a great lack of people.

Vicar's Close, I believe. Looks like the sort of place where you get Hovis bread straight from th'oven smile
Bill Phillips: It is indeed. Wonderful place isn't it?
Interesting treatment, Bill - works well.
Bill Phillips: Thanks Tom

Excellent picture.

PS: these cricket guys have me wondering with all these low scores in test cricket.
Bill Phillips: England are all out now for 140 odd! This match is a bit of a farce. They are blaming it on DRS, giving all these LBWs!
