Caught nicely in that lighting Bill..Are they the tops of barges?
Bill Phillips: They are indeed Ron. Now i get confused but I think, strictly speaking, these are narrowboats. I bet someone can tell us the difference!
Some people have garden sheds to keep their precious things in - these boat owners have the tops of their boats. smile smile

That is why they have the narrow design. You can fit a lot of them in at the wharf

Bill Phillips: I think of this more as a compositional exercise utilising diagonals, light and colour.

a nice, original perspective of the boats, their close togetherness may protect them a bit from coldness, snow, and frost during the wintertime, but some of them seem to need also some twiddle- treatment from the wharf doctors?

Great angle on these boats Bill. I'm knocked out by the video, just my type of thing.

That Stand By Me video brings tears to my eyes every time I see it, Bill. I LOVE it. And your image brings back happy memories from Amsterdam days. smile

I think I can hep with your reply to Ron. You'll find narrowboats are quite narrow whereas barges are more barge-like. I hope this has helped. Interesting display of coat hooks on the middle boat.
Bill Phillips: I know that I can always rely on you to cut through the flim-flam and obfuscation and tease out the essential information. Also you are the only person who has observed the coat hooks. Well done sir
