photoblog image The best of Ogden #39

The best of Ogden #39

Some of you will be familiar with my Ogden Nash site. This is a way of filling up the weekends by inflicting  some of the odd stuff I posted on there. So if you have seen them...sorry. If you haven't ....sorry

By the way this is Settle Station on the Settle to Carlisle Railway.

If I don't comment or reply today it is because I am doing a longer book sale this month and my not have time.

AH it is the first Saturday of the month again, time flies, I kinda thought this looks familiar, I don't mind watching it for the second time.
oops.....I now see you have 'the best of Ogden #39' erm....erm...I don't know how to put it.... have you seen Chad lately, he had a series of cateyes.......we came to #75 at last....grin
I do hope it is NOT catching.
I do hope you had a good book sale.
Bill Phillips: The numbering system I use for these re-run pictures is totally random Lady P.
We did the book sale until just after 3. With what we had already sold on amazon and the ladies cakes and jam we took over 530 for the month. By far our best ever.We were very pleased!

my first look at this pic, dear Ogden! Oh, old merry England, like a toy town, no downturn, no sale, no sex and crime- all things are proper and clean, the steam locomotive will come as punctual as clockwork, the conductor is very friendly and helpful... sometimes we are dreaming of such a world! But one 'thing' I miss- the greenness of England and the colourful bunches of flowers- in general the colours in this our intact little world! A fine sunday pic of a 'sunday world' as we say!
Bill Phillips: Settle station in 2005. The station had just been repainted and there were lots of flowers.

Is the Appelby? I would have put somme colour into it but I think the vignette works
Bill Phillips: It is Settle Station Chris
Nice finish on the image Bill, but I do think the frame is a bit heavy for it. Not at all bad though.
Bill Phillips: It's an Ogden frame Les...I would have had it without a frametongue
A fine touch Bill. We feel like being in a dream!
Bill Phillips: With Ogden it was usually a nightmare Richardtongue
What a wonderful piece of work you have done here Bill. Ive not seen it before. I really like this.
Bill Phillips: It isn't on Ogden's site now
Lovely image but the vignette doesnt do anything for me ...but then it wouldn't be a Bill image then ha!

Bill Phillips: It's a shame Chad won't see this as he always wants me to do unpleasant borders and frames!
A great shot of the station Bill and I like the vignette very much. Actually I also quite like the frame as well.
Bill Phillips: I don't really think the frame does a lot for it but what the helltongue
A lovely timeless appeal to this, Bill/Ogden/whoever(!). The location of the shot was off the screen when the image first opened and I thought "settle station"; pleased to find that it was.
Bill Phillips: Well done sir!!
No need to apologise for Ogden, and absolutely no need to apologise for this one - its beautiful.
Bill Phillips: Apart from the frame I like this myself!
The frame over powers but I really like the effect on the bricks again, it highlights the different shades/colours.
Bill Phillips: The frame is awful!
Very clever processing : Thumbs up !
Bill Phillips: Thank you kind sir!
