the pedestrian looks tired

i like the red mailbox showing on the structure
Bill Phillips: He does look a bit dejected.
He seems to have a rather defeated posture
Bill Phillips: He does E. Perhaps he backed a horse and it lost
That looks like a weary walk....
Bill Phillips: The cares of the world are on his shoulders

The man looks tired at that heat we had (and here still have) for some weeks.
Bill Phillips: He does have a dejected air Philine. It is cooler here today but looks like being perfect gardening weather

Men in summer gear generally look appalling ... Please at least show inhabitants wearing summer dresses ...
Bill Phillips: They do indeed and it should be recorded for future generations to see and avoid making the same mistake

It just shows that Brits don’t have style.
Bill Phillips: Brits have style it is taste they lack
not a highly spirited, kind of down looking man....street scene with so much uncoordinated signage.

a slice of life.

Wonder what his story might have been.
Bill Phillips: We seem to have a lot of street signs in this country.
I might go out in a T-shirt but certainly not that sort of lower clothing!
Bill Phillips: I wear shorts but not like these. Still each to his own

Theres a lot to be said for the glorious days of winter when people cover up their bodies and so don't quite look so appalling. The street looks remarkably clear of chewing gum deposits and fag ends.
Bill Phillips: You are right about the pavement. It does look unusually wholesome by English standards
We called in there last year not much going on, I seem to remember it more favourably three or four decades ago.
Bill Phillips: I quite like Tenbury. It still has its' annual hop market
Bill

In the early 70s when I switched from working in architecture to graphics and signage there was a great effort around the US in many cities and towns to pass SIGN LAWS to improve the quality of their designs and to control the quantity.
Bill Phillips: We seem to have vast numbers of signs, of variable quality and actual usefulness

What's an overweight American teenager doing in Tunbridge Wells?
Bill Phillips: That is a bit unkind both on this chap and our American cousins........and this is Tenbury Wells Tom...please pay attention grin
Bill

Sign clutter is common. Sign codes often in the US were challenged in courts and were usually struck down in the 70s and since. Control of Billboards or outside advertising on US government highways has been controlled very tightly.
he's moving along Bill... all he needs is a phone and his keys....petersmile
