A trip to Londinium 2

On arrival at Paddington Station we crossed Londinium via the underground to Kings Cross station where we were to meet up with Comrade Trim from the far right of England (how inappropriate for him that is) and Tiffo of Bath. Needless to say Trim was late.

Kings Cross is now the Eurostar terminal, or is that St Pancras next door and this one is HS 2 useless to mention. Apparently Eurostar is an underwater rail service to a strange land called Europe which just over half of those who voted in a referendum. voted to leave. It does beg the question why we need to be linked to them by such means in the future. No matter the restored frontage of the building is rather fine

Very well composed...
Bill Phillips: Pleased you think so Larry
You are very brave to travel to this land of dragons...(Thats what it says on Northern maps anyway) Remember to talk slowly, and loudly to the natives....
Bill Phillips: I would not have travelled alone

Wonderful shot of this station. Your perspective captures the life of the place. Nicely done.
Bill Phillips: It is a handsome building Beth

I like this, the frontage of KX really stands out here. As does that unfortunate piece of contemporary "art" which represents possibly the female form. No doubt its creator was either bullied as a child or hasn't seen an actual woman in decades..
Bill Phillips: The artwork did nothing for me but the station is impressive

Your best post ever. Funny read - I expect the tunnel will be blown up after we leave. The photograph is quite stunning. I like the composition, apart from the shame that the top of the station did not sneak into the frame. The colour of the stonework is very pleasing but, my favourite is the perspective, aided by the markings on the ground, which lead through to the view inside the station of its glass roof.
Bill Phillips: Thank you mutely. I was miffed about the top.

Very impressive and such a difference from the grim old days when the area was rife with prostitution (emm.. you and your chums did know that the girls have been moved elsewhere.

I had the pleasure of using Eurostar in June thanks to the f******* French b******* air traffic control strikers. The front of the train was disappearing under the Channel as the rear was still clearing the platform at St Pancras.
Bill Phillips: It is a fine structure. I would like to travel on the Eurostar
nice DoF here.... people avoiding your foreground??
Bill Phillips: Perhaps they didn't like the look of me!
My favourite London station because I went through there loads of times as a child on days out and then every day for 14 years to and from work, I've not seen it since they cleared the frontage like this, doesn't it look grand. Maureen and I met working at Kings Cross, our first date was 50 years ago come October enjoying lunch together in a little pub just up the road from here.
Bill Phillips: I am glad to have sparked some memories Brian. It does indeed look splendid
Like how we can see the glass interior ceiling through those marvellous windows, Bill. The colour of the exterior brickwork really makes the building stand out against its surroundings.
Bill Phillips: It does look rather grand doesn't it?
They've done a good job of clearing away all the clutter that built up in front - and, yes, Eurostar goes from St. P.
Bill Phillips: I thought so. I would like to travel on the Eurostar
You have a lot to answer for with this rubbish, how you get all these comments is beyond me.
Bill Phillips: Ah well. Unlike you, other people recognise quality when they see it.
