photoblog image Chedworth Roman Villa 7 of several

Chedworth Roman Villa 7 of several

The most important part of the house was to the left of this picture. There is not much to see at the moment although some excavation has been done it has ben covered again to preserve it. I guess at some stage they will build a proper cover and then re-excavate for our delight

Anyway the point is this would have been the view they had if they were having a stroll outside....yes I know the picnic tables wouldn't have been there . At least I cloned out the cars parked over on the right

A lovely view for our Roman friends...
Bill Phillips: They probably quickly went back indoors because it was too cold for them

Quel joli paysage !
Bill Phillips: We have some lovely countryside Martine
The bird on the wall seems to be surveying this lovely view, Bill. The sky does look threatening, though.
Bill Phillips: A fine pheasant. Happily the weather did improve as the day went on
The tree looks like an embroidery on the background of the landscape
Bill Phillips: It does rather claudio
What a fine area of parkland.
Bill Phillips: The whole area around Chedworth is very pleasing Brian
It does look like a beautiful spot!
Bill Phillips: It is E. as is all the area around here
That tree creates the mood along with that dramatic sky. Lovely strong details.
Bill Phillips: That tree is a great shape
Goodness, to see a pheasant perching there! What a lot of moss. It must be very wet.
Bill Phillips: They are the doziest of birds. THis is a very wet country Mary
