I like the barrel ceiling, Bill.

But, what is that odd-looking structure on the left?
Bill Phillips: It is a tomb thingy....couple of local bigwigs from the past
Good surfaces...
Bill Phillips: I particularly like the floor Larry

the ceiling and the flooring are such fine architectural style

i just realized there are no pews

now i'm confused
Bill Phillips: Pews are largely a Victorian addition to most churches, and many here are actually taking them out, allowing a far more flexible use of the space.

There is a big distance between the altar and the visitors. What an impressive tomb! I wonder that you know the Trinity Sunday.
Bill Phillips: I used to be choirboy grin
I do like this little church, it is not all that far away from us, a visit is due. It was rebuilt in 1878 but it looks as though a lot of the older features were kept.
Bill Phillips: Croft castle and this church are well worth a visit Brian
I guess they've taken out the pews.
Bill Phillips: Not entirely Tom
this is a very interesting chapel Bill... i like the rough stone floors....petersmile
Bill Phillips: I rather liked the floor to Peter smile
Only the paladins kneeling at the altar are missing, beautiful image, I like it.
Bill Phillips: Thank you Claudio. It is a nice little church
I do like the simplicity!
Bill Phillips: Yes it is elegant in its' simplicity E

why, why, why would anyone put a tomb inside a church building ?
Bill Phillips: Most churches in this country have people buried inside the building. Very important people have tombs. The tomb of King John is in Worcester cathedral.
