photoblog image Hereford ....yes we are still there

Hereford ....yes we are still there

A real 1960s looking building. It looks like it might have been a department store but originally it was a garden centre !

Right then fellow Herefordites, the committee is in session. The question is, what practical thing can we do today to continue to ruin our city?

Well I have an idea Mr Chairman.

Let's demolish the nice period buildings on the corner of Trimage Street, and then down Dufftown street to the left of it, and then build a vile monstrosity in the space we have created. And in honour of yourself Mr Chairman we will name it after yourself.

You are my hero, may I call you Frank...just once?
Bill Phillips: Do I detect a tone of cynicism in your comment Chris?
Cool building!
And congrats to a Wonderful Woman!!
Bill Phillips: Astrid is great!

Very different to the mega garden centres of today. perhaps when built there was unrestricted parking adjacent to it.

Good luck to Astrid; soon she will wonder how she ever found time to go to work.
Bill Phillips: I don't think there has ever been unrestricted parking in Hereford. Actually it is better now than when I had to go there regularly

I can’t imagine going up to the top floor to buy my daisies, or whatever one gets in such places Bill.
Bill Phillips: Spoken like a true gardener
It is rather stange looking building, designed by a committee no doubt! A great day for Atrid, I knew it was soemtime about now, tomorrow is the first day of the rest of her life.
Bill Phillips: It probably won an award and is a listed building Brian. Astrid will wonder how she ever found time to go to work
One would never have guessed!
Bill Phillips: Surprisingly, unlike your tower, this is , as far as I know, not a listed building
Beautiful framing, with the lines that follow the same lines on the sides
Bill Phillips: I am pleased you like it Claudio
