Me too...I love browsing in over-stocked hardware stores.
Bill Phillips: We used to have a wonderful old hardware shop in Droitwich
there would be no room for a barrel in that shop Bill... but Penny would have a ball in there....petersmile
Bill Phillips: Shops like this could find room for anything Petergrin
Biggest keys around...
Bill Phillips: No danger of losing them Larry
It does look stocked to the hilt!
Bill Phillips: An Aladdin's cave E. I love these old hardware shops that are ,sadly, fast disappearing

it looks like they have 1 of everything

what a treasure trove
Bill Phillips: They probably do Sherri. These hardware shops are becoming quite rare now
Awwww. How sweet of Ange to think of Astrid! She would zoom right in to something particular and immediately know where she was going to put her signature! smile
Bill Phillips: You would have a job to get her out of the shop Ginnie

This is great isn't it. This place harks back to the days when shops were INTERESTING.
Bill Phillips: They were wonderful. We had a fine old hardware shop in Droiters
You don't see many like this anymore, Bill. A nice pic' of it.
Bill Phillips: An increasingly rare sight Frank

Blimey Bill, who would want to carry around a key that large?
Bill Phillips: Someone with a large lock

Clever owner. I would have taken that photo , too.
Bill Phillips: I bet this shop does well
Now that's what I call a proper shop, we often browse such places if we come upon them and end up buying a packet of AA batteries or something out of goodwill.
Bill Phillips: They are a delight Brian

I think I can stay overnight in such a shop, Bill. Ange knows me well. Often I go for fun into a shop like that just to see what's new...
Chris said the right thing here too.
Bill Phillips: I remember you at the Black country museum....we couldn't prise you away from the ironmongers

It looks a fascinating place to while away the time.
Bill Phillips: A proper hardware shop
Great to see it surviving!
Bill Phillips: There aren't many now. Back when I was working for ICI there were little hardware shops all over the place
Love this! Like a hardware store of the past.
Bill Phillips: It is a proper hardware shop. They used to be everywhere but they are quite rare now

it sure manages to stand out, Bill. i note that the shelves are sagging a bit with the weight of all the objects.
Bill Phillips: I bet those shelves have been there for many many years Ayush

It looks the sort of place where you can still buy 6 screws (if that's all you want) instead of 100. Oh..and "for 'andles"). Long may it prosper.
Bill Phillips: Indeed so Alan. A proper shop
A jump in the past
Bill Phillips: It is and it is good that there are still some shops like this Claudio

Stocktaking could be hard work in here. It may also lead to the discovery of long lost items. Love the British racing green livery.
Bill Phillips: I bet the shopkeeper knows where everything is. My brother used to have an M G midget in British Racing Green
