Bill Phillips: He was a fine composer and this is a charming statue to find in his garden

From the thumbnail, I wondered if Mr Phillips had invested in a new bench, and that this was he!
Bill Phillips: Sadly wrong on both counts Lisl smile

I always think of him as being slightly more portly than this. But having said this it's a fine statue
Bill Phillips: From memory the statue of him in Worcester opposite the cathedral shows him as quite slim.

If Tiff made that bench I’d eat my hat Bill. Sat here, Elgy looks a rather diminutive figure.
Bill Phillips: He was 5' 10" so a couple of inches taller than me. Next Time i go I will sit on the bench for comparison
digging his heels in ...suggests a sign of stubborness
Bill Phillips: Body language eh?
I know a Chris Phillis (formerly from England) who could do that.
Bill Phillips: So do we all Mary
Somehow I thought Elgar would look different...
Bill Phillips: He looks very Edwardian
I wonder if that is where he used to sit while contemplating his next composition. Nice choice of music today BTW.
Bill Phillips: Perhaps some of his earlier efforts

Like Larry and Chris - I hadn't really visualised him looking like this.
Bill Phillips: Strange tht. I guess most of the pictures of him are in his later years. I am used to seeing the statue in Worcester
Enjoying his garden in perpetuity, eh?

As for Tomas Olsson - I guess all these extreme sports enthusiast figure that they aren't going to draw their pension!
Bill Phillips: I bet they can't get life insurance either

Like respectable gentleman of that time, they were always well presented; no dressing down in those days.
Bill Phillips: I am glad I didn't live then
Surely he can rest for a long time.
Bill Phillips: As long as he likes Claudio

I like his Miners' boots, Young Will.
Bill Phillips: He did a lot of walking on the Malvern Hills
