Sliding down the mud ramp to the blue sea...
Bill Phillips: The blue sea slides up the mud ramp and they just wait
Nice light, Bill, only ever driven past this place. I remember the dreadful flood though.
Bill Phillips: You should take Elizabeth one day it is a lovely part of the country
'll just never get used to seeing boats on the ground. Nice shot, though!
Bill Phillips: Happens all the time here...guess this country must leak

This is a fabulous shot. I am like Elizabeth. Boats like this sure have my attention.
Bill Phillips: I love to see small boats and harbours but am less enthusiastic about going out in one
The beached boats of Lynmouth! Time now to rise and shine? smile
Bill Phillips: When the tide returns they will rise

Very nice too.

Is this a regurgitated shot from when we went there?
Bill Phillips: It is a picture taken when we were there I believe. I prefer revisited to regurgitated

Joli noir et blanc de ces bateaux qui attendent la marée.
Bill Phillips: The tide will turn and they will be back in their element
Nice treatment Bill.
Bill Phillips: I am obliged to you.

You really have to plan your day out on the water if you live anywhere around the Bristol Channel. It's a delightful part of the world. "Watersmeet" just up the river was always a senior Rolfe family favourite.

Like Frank, the news on that terrible flood always comes back to me - I was a child at the time, and it so impressed itself on my memory
Bill Phillips: I don't actually remember it but I have seen a program about it and I used to have a book about it too

Oh, I recall Lynmouth - I walked along this harbour - a fine image!
Bill Phillips: It is a lovely place. Helen and Andy spent their honeymoon in this area....hard to believe it will be their 10th anniversary in April!

Fantastic Bill, one of your best if not the best ever. An award winning photograph in my opinion. I like the contrast with the strong light reflecting on the waterless harbour. Then the boats with their chains all pulling into shot gives this a great sense of dynamic. The positioning of the elements in this composition is first rate and the little piece of sky is important. Ps I am not saying this simply because it is Monday.
Bill Phillips: I have very carefully checked my diary and it is not April 1st so I am going to take this comment at face value.

All racing upwards to that narrow opening - bound to be some crashes.

Great picture.
Bill Phillips: Going nowhere
A fine image Bill. When we were there the tide was out so I walked along the floor of the harbour among the boats along with a few other avid photographers.
Bill Phillips: An excellent idea Brian
Hilarious. Looks like boats going for a drive on the ocean bottom.
Bill Phillips: We have many such places in the UK Mary

the BW look suits it
Bill Phillips: I thought so Paul. I had done a choccie box version which did it no favours at all
i would love to be there when they open the gates to let the tide in to take them out of dry dock Bill... superb b&w and treatment....petersmile
Bill Phillips: doesn't quite work like that smile

Excellent B&W - looks like they are just waiting for the tide.
Bill Phillips: Thanks Beth. That is exactly what they are doing

i would love to see what i'm guessing is the tide coming in to lift the boats

Definitely low tide in those parts.
