Omnibus edition 3 of more than 1

This is a Foden PVRF6 coach dating from 1951...I think. Couldn't find much out about it but isn't it beautiful?

Today is my daughter Kathryn's birthday. She will be one year older than on the same day last year.

I would enjoy taking the wheel for a cruise around the block, Bill.
Bill Phillips: Yes me too Ray
Pretty schnazzy....
Bill Phillips: I loved it!

The people of 1951 were more courageous to show colour.
Bill Phillips: and yet generally life was still pretty drab and we still had rationing
Those were the days, Bill. HA! And please say Happy Birthday to Kathryn from the two of us.
Bill Phillips: They were indeed Ginnie. Mind you if we are honest we would all prefer a modern air conditioned coach!

This vehicle is the oldest post-war rear-engined vehicle in the UK, 7 years before the Atlantean. Powered by a Foden 4.1 litre 2 stroke engine. She operated all her working life (over 20 years) for Hollinshead, Biddulph.

I love the woodwork of the overhead racking and the glorious seat coverings.
Bill Phillips: 2 stroke. Must have been a great polluter!
Well first of all my birthday wishes to your one year older daughter Kathryn. Now for the coach. Yes, I like it and it looks luxurious inside, but I'm not sure how comfortable or correct those seats are.
Bill Phillips: I didn't try the seats but they looked quite comfortable

Flashy, indeed. I wonder if that thing to the right of the driver's knee is a fire extinguisher.
Bill Phillips: I think it is indeed a fire extinguisher
If one wanted to read on the bus the seats would keep distracting the eye. Happy Birthday to Kathryn.
Bill Phillips: It is certainly not a restful design
Clearly, an interior decorator with a grudge against buses!
Bill Phillips: I have to confess I love it!
She certainly has a lot more character than the modern coaches, but not all the toys.
Bill Phillips: It is of its time but it is a wonderful reminder

Impressive seatage!
Bill Phillips: Amazing isn't it? The whole interior is just something else.
A fine charabanc Bill, great upholstery. First to see the tower gets a stick of rock!
Bill Phillips: It would be right at home on the prom at Blackpool
