You should not have fore-warned the authorities that you were visiting, Bill.

Love this shot. If it was mine, I might have been tempted to crop off a bit of the sky...which would probably have buggered it completely.
Bill Phillips: I can see what you mean and I am a great cropper of pictures but often I bugger them too when I do

This is a fine image. I didn't look too closely but they could have been converting it into a pork pie emporium..
Bill Phillips: Well they were installing underfloor heating .......

Oh, what a pity, the church looks impressive - but your funny, witty, serious (politics!) talks might have compensated this lack. I would have cropped a bit the grasses in the foreground- but what should I say as simple photographer!
Bill Phillips: My original intention was to crop this square until I looked at the foliage bottom left and thought it added to the picture. So for once I left the picture alone grin

Isn't this the second time that something is closed when you wanted to visit something with Comrade Trim?? Great picture and I think the result of yesterday's sale is amazing.
Bill Phillips: They clearly have a premonition he is coming and take swift action
I like the shot very much.
Bill Phillips: Thank you very much Mary. I am a very pleased personsmile

I'm glad you took this beautiful church in during your visit. It was in the local news that it is being closed for renovation purposes for quite a few months. I once had the pleasure of singing in a Male Voice Choir concert in there a few years ago. Sir Malcolm Sargeant was the organist there from 1914 to 1924.
Bill Phillips: The inside has been pretty well gutted. It says they are putting in underfloor heating! I imagine it will be worth a visit when it re-opens
I like this church very much...
Bill Phillips: So do I and I hope I get to pay a visit when it re-opens sometime
