Caring 1 of 2

One of the great things about my 30 plus years as a member of Lions is that I have been privileged to meet some wonderful people. None more so than the dedicated staff of Spectrum Days here in Droitwich.

Please click on the link to their website to discover what they do.

http://spectrumdays.co.uk/

I paid a visit with Ange and another Lion to present them with a cheque for £500 which was part of the proceeds from the Sleigh at Christmas. We joined in with the activity they were doing with music and actions and then had tea and cake....(note Alan Rolfe)

At one of their events before Christmas we took Ted with us and he had a great time! They said we could bring him again!

I hope this and the picture tomorrow convey just what wonderful people they are

What a fantastic organisation they are Bill, they should receive all the support they need.
Bill Phillips: They are and Maggie who started it is a very good fund raiser!
This is a wonderful shot and write up, Bill!
Bill Phillips: Thanks E. I wanted to share this because with all the negative things in the world it is a reminder of the good people out there and keeps me sane (well more or less)

This pair nearly have their handshake practiced to the point where Donald Duck [POTUS] doesn't stand a chance to dominate.

500quid would be a week's tea&cake allowance for our Al.
Bill Phillips: He is not fit to shake either of their hands Ray

The fellow looks like John Lennon in profile, Bill
Bill Phillips: He does doesn't he. He is profoundly disabled but has a lovely smile
As I've watched your endeavors with your Lions Club over the years, Bill, you can be very proud of yourselves!
Bill Phillips: I am proud of the generosity of the people in Droitwich who support our activities and give us the money to help groups like this Ginnie

Isn't it marvellous to know there are people like this around
Bill Phillips: It reminds me that not everyone is like Donald Trump
You and your Lions mates do a fantastic job Bill.
Bill Phillips: Thanks Mick. When we are able to help organisations like this it is worth the effort
a tremendous initiative and one that needs more encouragement, Bill. very good!
Bill Phillips: We have been able to support them from the start Ayush and have seen what wonderful work they do

So wonderful that there are people in life that are willing to give such help to those less able to help themselves and well, too, to all the fundraisers.

To help, I've willing to be sponsored to eat cake in moderation.
Bill Phillips: They are very dedicated people and will never get rich doing it.

You should be sponsored to forego cake for a month
This was my profession for many years, Bill.
Bill Phillips: Then you know the level of dedication needed Mary
I greatly admire all the people involved with charities like this trying as hard as they can to give these unlucky people some sort of life despite their handicaps. Our sons partner works in a small residential home in Shepshed where they look after people with handicaps and learning difficulties. It makes one thankful that ones own children and grandchildren are o.k.although our granddaughter is slightly autistic sadly.
Bill Phillips: Some people are dealt a difficult hand Brian and the people like those at Spectrum Days do so much to help those who are so severely disabled

The picture is as good as the cause. The guy in your picture also features in one of the website cover pictures. I take my hat off to people doing this work.
Bill Phillips: If you look at their gallery there are a couple of pictures of Ange one of them when she presented a cheque on behalf of the Lions ladies a couple of years ago

I think this is an amazing group of people and need all the support they can get. There are a lot of people that care. We all should be proud of them.
Bill Phillips: They do and we have seen this place develop from the start so, believe me, what they have achieved is remarkable
Lovely pic and fine sentiments, Bill
Bill Phillips: They are a great group and our ?lions club has been involved with them since they started
you captured such a tender moment Bill...
it is a wonderful charity caring for the disabled...
the Lions do a lot of good as well....petersmile
Bill Phillips: Thank you Peter. I wanted to share this because of the work that Spectrum days do and to show that even at these difficult times there are some wonderful people out there doing amazing things
