Boat balls

I imagine they collide with the dock wall a lot

Two of the original members of the Shadows this was their 3rd and final hit reaching number 4 in the Uk in Sept 63. All their hits were in 63

I really like this comp, Bill! Focusing on this part of the boat!
Bill Phillips: Thank you kindly E
A nice abstract, Bill, I met Jet Harris once...
Bill Phillips: Funnily enough I have met the man who replaced him Brian Locking. A former customer of mine in North Wales knew him as they were both Jehovah's witnesses ( They never tried to convert me) and I met Brian a couple of times at his house and went to a folk club where he still played.

I have often wondered if there is a proper name for these things
Bill Phillips: Mary says they are dock bumpers but I prefer my name for them

A heavy hand on the tiller by the sound of it. To answer Chris' comment, are they not called fenders?
Bill Phillips: Isn't that what the Americans call the bumper on a car. Mary says they are dock bumpers

Very dramatic Bill, super shot. The close up really packs the drama in.
Bill Phillips: This was a fairly severe crop as I had a 50mm lens on the camera at the time, which speaks quite well for both the lens and the camera

Belle idée d'avoir pris ces détails.
Bill Phillips: Thank you very much Martine
You can tell Chris the name for these boat balls are bumpers or dock bumpers.
Bill Phillips: I think I prefer boat balls as it sounds slightly rude grin
I like this, what I call a picture from almost nothing, to coin the old phrase, 'Well seen'
Bill Phillips: It was cropped from one of several I took of this boat leaving the harbour. I had a 50mm lens on so had to crop it!
You could of put a stamp on the Xmas card, and fancy sending me a bill with the card.
Bill Phillips: Those cards are expensive so you are lucky I sent you one at all
I think you gao that right, Bill!
my guess is that the boat isn't named after a woman like most of the boats in the world... i love your shot and the title....petersmile
so they got rid of the old tyres and installed these, Bill. a nice shot.
