We are not amused

Years ago this was a rather run down little zoo. Now it is a run down amusement arcade. what price progress eh?

The thumbnail had me thinking someone could not spell "mints", Bill...that might be the problem, heh!
Bill Phillips: The problem lies in this not having been demolished years ago Ray grin
The only thing that doesn't change is that everything changes...
Bill Phillips: Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose

My fave place for this sort of pointless tat and "pleasure" is Dawlish Warren. I will go there one day to prove my point
Bill Phillips: Dawlish Warren always was horrible

One thing I hate in England are the amusements, sorry, sorry!
Bill Phillips: Don't apologise I hate them too
I like this Bill, very Martin Parr, but without the saturated colour. More of these please.
Bill Phillips: I had to google Martin Parr but I am flattered by the comparison

I see that Philine is not of fan of these places; neither am I! I can imagine kids pestering their parents to go in and 20 minutes later, another tenner has gone.
Bill Phillips: That makes three of us
The yellow is very cheery if anything.
Bill Phillips: That is the only thing in its favour Mary

At least no animals suffer in providing the entertainment. There is one of these in the St Ives harbour, it wails and calls louder than a flock of hungry gulls but rarely is anyone inside.
Bill Phillips: True. It does seem that they issue forth a cacophony regardless of the number of punters. Like you I seldom see anybody in them!
looks like a kind of cultural education, Bill. i am not familiar with these places.
Bill Phillips: They are full of games machines which usually involve you losing money
I there's one thing I hate in a place it's amusement arcades but I guess it is a way of making a living.
Bill Phillips: They are a part of most seaside resorts and are universally horrible

No doubt noisy and complete with that sickly smell of candy floss :-(

Not a nice setting for a zoo, Bill
Bill Phillips: It would never be allowed now. I suspect the building's days are numbered as I think there is going to be a fair bit of redevelopment. One of the cafes by the carpark where I once dished out tea and ice cream has recently been demolished.
Given what happens next, this is probably as good as it gets - it'll probably close next year!
Bill Phillips: I suspect its days are numbered as I think there is some redevelopment going to happen
