Who was Elizabeth house, and why was she stood there?
Bill Phillips: She was only an architect's daughter but she let the Borough Surveyor

As I said to you before, I might consider doing exactly the same thing in the spring if the weather is agreeable. The Exe estuary is a delight to watch wading birds, of which I am particularly fond
Bill Phillips: Indeed and there are usually some good offers

I like the art deco style to the building. Like Chris, I'm thinking of heading that way, too, in the spring.
Bill Phillips: Look out for a good deal
They are a very successful company, having understood exactly what the punter actually wants. One has sprung up in the middle of Cheltenham.
Bill Phillips: The deals you can get offer exceptional value for money. You are right they give you what you need

It could be worse, they have a nasty habit of painting things purple.
Bill Phillips: Apparently they altered the design about a dozen times before getting the final go ahead. It actually looks OK on the seafront and far better than the redevelopment where the old swimming baths used to be.

I cannot see Ange on the balcony, Bill!
Bill Phillips: Too cold
A new building in an old style. Very nice, really.
Bill Phillips: I find it quite acceptable Mary

Looks like a nice place to stay. I like the building too!
Bill Phillips: They are a chain of budget hotels which offer decent value )by UK standards)
It is quite a nicely styled building for a Premier Inn, we stayed in one in Norwich in August when we had to dash up there for a funeral and it was very plain in design.
Bill Phillips: Most of them are. apparently they have recently built one in Aberystwyth which is not unlike this. When they build then next to a shopping centre they don't have to bother quite so much

Looks quite inviting, Bill
Bill Phillips: It was excellent value Lisl
i like the way that you captured the people inside drinking or dining Bill... it looks like a wonderful Inn... the widow walks on the top two floors add to the beauty of the building....petersmile
Bill Phillips: They are a budget chain but very good value. The beds are comfortable and you have all the things you need

Not all commercial property is awful - and I guess there would be pretty careful vetting of the plans, given the location.
Bill Phillips: They revised the design 12 times before this final version was agreed. I think they have done a decent job and actually quite like the building
