Armistice Day

I hope Ted and his brother Joseph never have to experience war. I have been lucky to live my life without ever having to shoot at anybody. I wish that could be the same for everyone

Très joli portrait de ce bambin.
Bill Phillips: He is a cheeky little chap
Hear, hear, Bill.
Bill Phillips: It is hard to be optimistic, and even less so in the light of recent developments

One hopes, Bill...
Bill Phillips: We can only hope that the leaders of countries can finally come to their senses
Let's hope so for our children and our grandchildren Bill!
Bill Phillips: It would be the best legacy we could leave them

Yes, let's hope so! A wonderful portrait of Ted!
Bill Phillips: We have to keep hoping
I so agree with you, Bill. It often feels like history hasn't taught us anything!
Bill Phillips: All we learn from history is that we learn nothing from history Ginnie

Oh, sorry, it is Joseph who looks at us!
Bill Phillips: You were right the first time Philine . This is Ted
I would be happy to observe a minute of silence if, because of it, people vowed never to go to war again. But I know that people do it for the wrong reasons. My Uncle died in WW1, but I think about him often, not just for one minute. My hopes are the same as yours Bill.
Bill Phillips: I sadly have to agree with what you say but I don't think that applies to all people

Lovely photograph and sentiment Bill.
Bill Phillips: I think being a grandparent has made me more anti war than ever
I was thinking those thoughts too.
Bill Phillips: We can only hope for the best for them

A prayer I echo, Bill. I love this picture of young Ted
Bill Phillips: He was looking rather cheeky...but then he is!

Let us hope so Bill.

Lovely picture of your grandson, how big he is getting.
Bill Phillips: He is just starting to walk now. Only a few steps unaided but getting more each day
i think that is an admirable sentiment and a prayer for the young ones of today, Bill.
Bill Phillips: It would be the best gift we could give to the future
Ted's growing up very quickly isn't he. Before our son left school in 1992 he tried for the army but there was a block on recruitment at the time. Fortunately by the time recruitment started again he'd lost the wish to do so. It may seem selfish but we were so happy it didn't come to pass.
Bill Phillips: I would have felt exactly the same Brian

Hear hear to that. Although I can think of a few people I'd love to shoot if I thought I could get away with it wink
Bill Phillips: I have to confess I have a list!
Thanks for sharing this image, I too hope they both have a peaceful future, but after all that has happened so far this year who knows what is round the corner.
Bill Phillips: I am not optimistic Martin
We'll all second that, Bill!
Bill Phillips: Let us hope the idiots who rule listen
He has a fine expression... may he and we live at peace...
Bill Phillips: He is quite a character!
