New Car

Well after much deliberation we have taken the plunge and the old Hyundai Matrix has gone and this little Skoda Citigo is the replacement. Only picked it up on Friday but it is clearly a lot of fun to drive!  If it proves to be as reliable as the old Hyundai then I will be very happy!

Jolie voiture. Bien vu pour les reflets.
Bill Phillips: We are very pleased with it. Mind you we have only had it a couple of days!

It certainly looks very shiny anyway. Is this the Monte Carlo model? Good to see that that you are not clashing with the neighbour';s cars across the road.
Bill Phillips: No it is the colour Edition ...It doesn't have the sports suspension (sports suspension on a 1 litre city car?????) The interior is more restrained and it doesn't have the go faster stripes

My congratulations! our Little Red Riding Hood looks very good. I read that the consumer habit in England after the Brexit is very good.

My congratulations! Your Little Red Riding Hood looks very good. I read that the consumer habit in England after the Brexit is very positive.
Bill Phillips: That is a good name for her! Prices here are starting to go up so perhaps people are buying before they do

In our country white colours are fashion.
Bill Phillips: They are here too. The one we had a test drive in was white, but we both liked the red!

EXTRA BONUS COMMENT

And cheaper to run
Bill Phillips: A lot cheaper!!
I bet this is fun to drive Bill!
I doubt about the Skoda reliability throuh...
Bill Phillips: They have a good reputation here. A couple of friends have Skodas and swear by them. Astrid has one too!
That is a brand nor known here. You sure got a great shot of it!
Bill Phillips: Skoda are part of the Volkswagen group. A long established car manufacturer on the Czech republic they were the object of ridicule when under communist control. The cars were awful. When VW took over they built a new factory and Skoda (along with Seat in Spain) make their own versions of the Volkswagen range plus some total variations of their own using the common platforms. They have built a reputation for value for money and well engineered reliable cars.
Our neighbour has the Skoda Superb, right at the opposite range from yours but it is his second one and he is more than satisfied with it, Skoda is no longer the big joke it used to be back with the old rear engined models, one of which we had when we moved to Shepshed and it was actually quite a good car, the only red car we've ever had. Enjoy your new toy.
Bill Phillips: A friend of mine had the superb and no has an Octavia estate and another friend has the Yeti. Thy are well put together and the Citigo is ideal for us now. I drove one of the old rear engined ones once. I wasn't very keen! This is my third red car. I had a red Mini years ago and we had a red Daewoo Matiz. I like red on small cars but not on big ones generally....unless it is a Ferrari!
I'd go for an automatic, myself -- my left leg having got tired of gear changing years ago (of course, you are a much younger fella smile ) - but the reviews of the auto citigo are not encouraging, so I hope you got the manual! smile
Bill Phillips: I have the manual. You are right that the auto gets poor reviews although, ironically, the chap at the dealers said that had I wanted the auto there is a long lead time as they are very popular! I know what you mean about the left leg. I spent most of my working life as a rep! Mind you the controls on this are so light and easy I think I will be able to cope now that I don't do a huge mileage any more!
Very pretty!!
