Spring Meadow 2

When it first opened it wasn't bad and we could walk up for an inexpensive lunch and a beer. It became a carvery which was dreadful then they tried again and it wasn't too bad and then they had a final Manager in there who apparently wasn't very interested

A pity because it seems to be a very pleasant place Bill!
Bill Phillips: It was popular when it first opened but changed hands an it was all downhill after that

Sounds like they never built up a proper following
Bill Phillips: When it first opened it was very popular with the kids. Our daughter used to go there. They also did a decent lunch. Nothing fancy but good value. It changed hands and never really was the same again.

I must say that it does not appear to have much character so I would have passed on by. But then if pubs had to rely on the likes of me for they existing then there would not be any left. I forget the last time time I used one just to socialise with friends.
Bill Phillips: No character at all Alan. It was local to us and in the early days handy to stroll up to for a reasonable lunch and a beer now and then

These good value places don't know a good thing when they see one - a local village cafe is going the same way
Bill Phillips: We have just had a new cafe open up and another one expand in Droiters. They have several things in common. Good quality food, reasonable price and they are friendly.
The quality of this picture is a clever way to convey the steady decline of this place.
Bill Phillips: I will take that as a compliment
Like many ventures, the business is only as good as the hand on the tiller.
Bill Phillips: Very true Martin
It has all faded away to nothing then.
Bill Phillips: It has Mary.

You have captured the demise of the place well with your treatment Bill
Bill Phillips: It seems odd to think that a building so new is now derelict
Sadly such places change hands quite a lot and tend to go up and down in quality.
Bill Phillips: This place mainly went down
it's a wonderful little building Bill... some businesses just don't survive no matter what they do to it... i love your framing and treatment....petersmile
Bill Phillips: It is a typical 80s pub building Peter. No character but functional. It was quite good when it first opened
Sums up Droitwich then, you should move to Blackpool.
Bill Phillips: I could never be that desperate
Nice treatment again, Bill - I'll have to take a look at this software smile
I like the treatment a lot.

The weeds don't care!
Bill Phillips: They are no respecter of property
