Puff...puff...puff...Hancock's Half Hour!
Bill Phillips: You got it!
i haven't seen Tony's shows Bill... but i like this shot of the back of the silver haired couple of groupies....petersmile
Bill Phillips: He was, for me, the finest British Comic actor I have ever heard or seen. His timing was sublime. His life was a sad one of a perfectionist who self destructed.

I don't know Tony Hancock... but I like this shot. I love to see couples holding hands!
Bill Phillips: Frank will be able to explain....he was a very English comic actor

I don't know Tony Hancock but this is a fine candid capture Bill!
Bill Phillips: I guess he was a great comic actor here as Jacques Tati was in France. Very different but wonderfully talented

Oh, I thought nof the Salvation Army, but this is surely wrong. I don't understand anything.
Bill Phillips: Tony Hancock was, in my view, our greatest comic actor. In one of his radio shows he has arranged to meet a woman who he knew as a child when he was in the boy scouts. He gave her his woggle (used by scouts and guides to tie their scarves I believe. Eventually the woman turns up but he is not very keen so he scarpers!
I was a fan of Tony Hancock Bill...who wasn't?
Bill Phillips: He is my comic hero

I thought they were scout masters, Bill
Bill Phillips: Indeed they are Lisl
I like the picture, but Tony Hancock, for me personally, was one the unfuniest people there's ever been on television, does that make me a Philistine?
Bill Phillips: 'fraid so Brian grin

Not really. Comedy is a very personal thing. I have always regarded Hancock as a genius of a comic actor. His timing was just wonderful.
I am a TH fan but I'm afraid I can't remember the woggles
Bill Phillips: It was one of the radio episodes as I recall. He has arranged to meet someone he knew when he was a boy scout. He gave her his woggle as a love token. The whole episode is the build up to the meeting but when he sees her he changes his mind and goes!
i did not get it nor am i familiar with the name, Bill. something to google up. nice shot.
