The oak sculpture which stands over three metres tall was made by expert wood carver Tom Harvey.

The sign points to the furthest northern, southern, eastern and western places attainable on the inland waterway system.

The sculpture was paid for with money raised in 2009 and 2010 when Coun Andrew Dyke was Wychavon District Council’s chairman and chose the Droitwich Canals Trust as one of his charities to fund-raise for.

It was officially unveiled earlier this year

The close up pictures are a delight
Bill Phillips: Hopefully it will weather well and look even better
The carvings are impressive, oak is a fine timber improving as it ages.
Bill Phillips: It will hopefully weather well Martin and look even better
It is a wonderful piece. It would be hard going through the oak but modern tools aid greatly in that.
Bill Phillips: I was very impressed with it Mary. I think it is a fine execution of a good idea

What a lovely sculpture
Bill Phillips: I quite agree Anne. Droitwich should be proud of it
A good solid piece isn't it, and the carvings are beautifully done
Bill Phillips: It is Janet. I really like it
I like this very much, the collage and the sculpture, something else to see when we finally get to Droitwich, of which, I reminded Maureen at lunchtime today, we haven't managed to make it this year.
Bill Phillips: There will be much for you to see NEXT year!!

I like the way it encompasses lots of waterway scenes. It would be interested to know what those four points were. I do hope that some mindless idiot does not carve his initials in the wood - or is that too much to expect?
Bill Phillips: Without going there and looking I can only tell you that South it is Godalming 204 miles and North it is Tewitfield in Lancashire at 127 miles. I hope it doesn't get damaged but it is, sadly, quite possible.
I think it is a great piece of work Bill, thank goodness for people like him
Bill Phillips: I am pleased you like it. Next time you visit I will take you to see it in the "flesh"
A fine object!
Bill Phillips: I think so Tom

I always like all forms of 'finger pointing' ... and signage like this, excels
Bill Phillips: This puts you to shame comrade. This is big finger stuff
I like your collage with the carving details shown too.
Bill Phillips: Thanks Jacquelyn. It is a fine piece of work
