Often after a dry summer colours will start turning early. The lake looks like it could do with some more water.
Bill Phillips: Indeed so Alan. Although it hasn't been a great summer it was very dry for long periods

Very nice. I was at Westonbirt Arboretum yesterday and could not help noticing autumnal colours emerging
Bill Phillips: As Alan says the dry summer is probably responsible. Haven't been to Westonbirt for many years
This is paradise to me Bill!
Bill Phillips: It was very enjoyable Richard

Oh, that's a lovely image, Bill.
Bill Phillips: I am delighted you think so Pauline
Oh my! What brought that on, I wonder. We have been having mid summer weather in September. We broke a few temperature records this week with 28 for several days.
Bill Phillips: It was very dry here for long periods although it wasn't a great summer. Trees often start to shed leaves early as a result of the stress of this I believe
We saw some lovely early autumn colours at Chatsworth last Friday, but these are really early aren't they. According to the weather people we've had a terrible summer with loads of rain, I guess that must be in London and the South East, it certainly wasn't round our way, but then north of Watford we don't exist do we!
Bill Phillips: We have had a lot of dry weather this summer even though it wasn't the most brilliant of summers. The media is barley aware the midlands exists Brian. We are either lumped in with the north or the south
Very nice.
Theree's just a hint of it here in Sweden, too!
A beautiful spot, Bill. It must a be glorious sight when all the leaves are sporting their Fall colours.
nicely captured Bill... i hope that we get an Indian Summer in our area this year...
it's been cold and damp the past two days....petersmile
