Don't bite the hand that feeds you. This Moorhen flew up onto a post and then ate out of Michael's hand. Just goes to show how they have lost their fear of humans

Oh, a wonderful photo! Is Michael Lisl's dear husband?
Bill Phillips: He is indeed Philine
I have a feeling we've tamed too many animals, Bill, because of our handouts? But then, maybe some of them are meant to be part of us!
Bill Phillips: It is not generally a good thing for animals to lose their fear of people but this is a nature reserve so they are safe here

When you said Michael I was waiting for you to make a degrotatory comment about Mick Shaw but then I realised that Michael is Lisl's husband. It's a good imqage but I've never heard of this before.
Bill Phillips: Nor have I although quite a few of the birds will take food from your hand but not quite like this!
I would have been thrilled at this.
Bill Phillips: I think Michael was pleased and we all were surprised
Good to see the lack of fear isn't it. Great capture Bill
Bill Phillips: Amazing really Janet
i like this shot, Bill. perhaps this one was more inquisitive than afraid>?
Bill Phillips: I think he had lost all fear of people....not necessarily a good thing
A most unusual thing to happen, you made the most of it with a great image Bill.
Bill Phillips: He was there for quite a while really Brian....even I had time to get a picture grin
Nice timing and catch. How long did he stay there?
Bill Phillips: It was at least a couple of minutes Jacquelyn

Whenever I find them, they are skittish and difficult to photograaph. So, I find this very unusual.
