And this is part of its intrinsic charm
Bill Phillips: Very much so Chris
I love these timber framed houses Bill. What a charming place!
Bill Phillips: Herefordshire is known for its timber framed houses Richard

That's good to hear and all the better for it. So Ledbury Hardware Ltd is not a trading name for B&Q then? The red brick building with its uPVC windows looks quite out of place.
Bill Phillips: J Mart is one of the lesser gems in Ledbury Alan

a fine town for shopping! The timber framed house could be seen in Droitwich, too.
Bill Phillips: Indeed so Philine. Yes we have some timber framed houses still in Droitwich and in Worcester too

Shame that these timber framed buildings were so often painted black and white through Victorian influence. but still much more aesthetic than the modern J Mart brick building
Bill Phillips: If they restored all the black and white houses back to what they were originally it would bugger up the black and white trail a bit

I see a good old hardware shop - most little towns have them and they are Aladdin's caves
Bill Phillips: We used to have a wonderful one in Droitwich. Now sadly long gone
We have 100,000 pieces of plastic in our store. J
Bill Phillips: Hahahaha you are probably right Mary and all of it imported from the far east

Just by a brooding sky. Is Ledbury the new Droitwich?
Bill Phillips: Like Droitwich it was bathed in sunshine....that sky isn't broodinggrin
A refreshing change Bill. Love the black and white building
Bill Phillips: There are a number of them in the town Janet
Nice to see this old half timbered building still standing, certainly more interesting than the one on the right of the picture.
Bill Phillips: It is unlikely ever to become a listed building is it?

Great contrast between the timber frames and brickwork. It's good to see that the independents are keeping going
Bill Phillips: It is a pleasure to walk down a High Street that doesn't just look like every other High Street
Looks as bad as Droitwich.
Bill Phillips: You know nothing.
Nice.
