i love this image and your treatment is outstanding Bill...

i used to work for Revenue Canada years ago... there was a retirement home on one side of the building and a funeral home across the street on the other side of the street...
we was called it...
"The corner of death and taxes"....petersmile
Bill Phillips: Hahaha There is a funeral directors next to a hospice shop in Droitwich if you recall Peter
I suppose it doesn't need to be gloomy.... Some of these places are really quite wonderful!
Bill Phillips: This is done to a very high standard E. If you can afford it then it is ideal for a lot of people. Not me though!

Great picture and a great title. We have some 'old folk houses', private rental that is, quite nice and they 'have a price and a night nurse'...
Bill Phillips: This is expensive but you get quite a lot for your money, so if you can afford it then it would suit many people
Your treatment is amazing Bill! Well done indeed.
Bill Phillips: Thanks very much Richard. Have a good weekend

This is quite a nice spooky-type image. I think Ray has a point..
Bill Phillips: I refer you to my reply to Ray.
LOL at Astrid because she calls herself my "night nurse" during these weeks of rehabilitation. HA! Let's hope we all have a little more light on the subject when we get to that stage, Bill!
Bill Phillips: I imagine she keeps you up to scratch Ginnie...no slacking smile

And quite a price, I bet, Bill
Bill Phillips: A two bedroomed one will cost about £250,000 but they are to a high standard. Service charges are about £9000 per annum

Well may the storm clouds gather. It is a problem that is going to get worse and worse. Fine photo though.
Bill Phillips: Indeed it is Mike and no political party is going to admit that the only way to pay for it is through taxation
You make it seem a scary situation but to make the move to assisted living should brighten the mood of anyone entering.
Bill Phillips: It won't brighten their bank balance. These apartments are very fine and I am sure would appeal to a lot of people. I would rather be dead
I like your treatment here Bill, and indeed our last days can be rather dark for some.
Bill Phillips: Sadly for far too many. This place is fine if you can afford it but I don't know what use it is if you need serious care.

My mum is in something similar; not much assistance, though, which at least that is reflected in the price she pays. She does not like being with the old people, though - she's 95!
Bill Phillips: A lot of them don't even have people on site! This is manned 24/7 and if the adverts are accurate than what you get could be said to be good value for money

Excellent my dear, which rooms have you reserved for us?
Bill Phillips: They offer one and two bedroomed apartments with communal areas and a restaurant. If you have the money I will put them in touch grin

They won't use this picture for their brochure Bill.
Bill Phillips: Probably not. I entered a photographic competition when they were building these to have a picture in their communal area. I didn't win so this could be seen as my revenge
Quite the title and shot.
Bill Phillips: Thanks Jacquelyn
Looking at this and the prices you've quoted they do seem to be a bit 'upmarket' compared with the average older persons places, out of my pocket for sure.
Bill Phillips: Mine too Brian

Bill Phillips: It is a bit grin
Gloomy stuff, Bill - great image, though!
