Blackdog

Alvin Stardust was one of those people who seems to have been around for most of my life. I bought his records when he was Shane Fenton in the early 60s, and then as the Glam rocker Alvin Stardust in the 70s. Ange and I saw him on stage with a 70s tour some years back and he was the star of the show. He just had that something which so few had.

Never a superstar but a likeable entertainer and I will miss him. This track is the last one on his final album that was released just after he died. I bought a copy and I like it

A fine tribute to our chum.

I'm worried at you commenting at the most unearthly hour!
Bill Phillips: I have got a stinking cold...Ange got it first and has passed it on. I gave up and got up last night for a hour or so!

I think I have this photo - only mine was in B&W. The very first one I posted on SC!

Sorry to hear about the cold - get well soon.
Bill Phillips: I had a look and mine is almost plagiarism!

Where? Is it near the black cat top left? Oh...wait.. I can see it now, having cranked up the brightness. You sure you've not got man flu?
Bill Phillips: I have a very bright monitor and it is quite dark even on mine

No it is a genuine cold as Ange had it first....naturally I have got it far worse
Fine intriguing image Bill! I wish you to feel better soonest.
Bill Phillips: Thanks on both counts Richard
He was a survivor in an industry that spits them out when they are used up!
Bill Phillips: Like many who survived he was good live
I have never heard of this fellow. His brother, Ziggy, is familiar. Why did you let the dog go to the beach in the dark??
Bill Phillips: He had a career that spanned 50 years in music and theatre and TV. A bit like Cliff Richard I don't think he ever made much of an impression in The US or Canada. He was good live and his final album is very enjoyable

Film Noir?
Bill Phillips: Chien Noir grin
Out in the gloom but I expect his nose is in good working order. Sorry yours isn't Bill
Bill Phillips: Hahaha indeed it is not Janet
I actually like the picture being this dark. Nice track from the album isn't it, your comment re not being a superstar but a likeable entertainer sums him up very well.
Bill Phillips: It is a good song , in fact it is a good album and it is sad that he died just before it was released
if this is almost plagiarism of Blackdog's first SC picture Bill it is a compliment ...

i'm sorry about your cold... mine has been holding on for a month and a half... i am taking so many antibiotics and prednisone my pharmacist posted my picture as his favorite customergrin

....petersmile
Bill Phillips: I certainly would not complain Peter.

Sorry you are still under the weather, mine is probably a six day cold. 2 coming 2 here 2 going

I have got a real stinking cold as well, Billiam. Hense my lack of trivial and intellectual chat in the last few days
Bill Phillips: It is the time of year comrade. You never seem to see a politician with a cold which shows that the virus has a degree of discernment

Nice shot of the back end of the mutt, Bill.
Bill Phillips: I think that is the front Ray...but I wouldn't swear to it
