Those are obviously ice boxes in the middle of each vessel, Bill!
Bill Phillips: I can't think what else they might be Ray
I didn't, of course... smile
I like how they're all lined up, ready to go!
Bill Phillips: Aw go on you are just kidding me right?

Indeed Bill, Beer is such a fine spot, I always enjoy a visit there. A pleasing photograph.
Bill Phillips: It was good to go there after so many years and find it has not been ruined
i didn't know that about beer boats Bill...
i thought that they were rum runners... how else would they get the rum from the ship to shore....petersmile
Bill Phillips: There was plenty of smuggling in the South West at one time Peter

.....however you can use them for transporting beer....
Great POV and love the B&W
Bill Phillips: Or just load them up and sit in them on the beach Lady P.

I think you must have been very happy at Beer, and possibly in a Beer Boat, Bill
Bill Phillips: It was a nice nostalgic visit as the last time I was there was with my parents!
Is the pub on the opposite bank Bill? (lol) Fine capture!
Bill Phillips: No but there was one not far behind me grin

Yes I knew that. What happened to Jimmy Mottingham, did he reach the promised land and fall down his own aperture?
Bill Phillips: He has gone home and is sulking as very few people looked at his pictures and those that did were uncomplimentary
I didn't know that, Bill, so thanks for the clarification. smile

I'm glad that it is not raining in Beer although it is Chris' empire - a nice still-life!
Bill Phillips: Rain follows Chris like a dog follows its' master

And very fine they look too!
Bill Phillips: They are proper boats Mike
I like the idea of beer boats, nor boats from Beer You could say the boat run we have at the end of Aug has beer boats.
Bill Phillips: your boat event is a thinly disguised eating and drinking fest! (If I ever get to PEI that is when I am coming grin)

Not a bottle or a tap to be seen. A dry weekend in Brighton, in sight.
Bill Phillips: Ah but this is Devon so there will be drinks nearby!
I got a picture of these as well Bill. I like your black and white version
Bill Phillips: Thanks Janet. Beer is a great place for pictures
I rather like this Bill, looks good in B.& W. I have taken the Bull by the horns and you will shortly see one of my Beer images I took in the pouring rain in October, it's about the only one worth looking at!
Bill Phillips: Pictures in the rain can be some of the best ones....after all Chris takes nearly all of his when it is raining

I assume that those with the flags are reserved for Liz and Phil should they pop down for a pie and pint before heading off out to sea. They probably still miss Britannia.
Bill Phillips: Yeah it is a bit of a bummer for them not having a royal yacht
A fine shot of these little boats with flag blowing in the breeze, Bill. England seems to be a gold mine of colourful town names.
Bill Phillips: There are some wonderful names Beverly. There is a village near us called Wyre Piddle!
Nice B&W Bill.
Bill Phillips: Thanks Tom

Our fleet is looking a bit dilapidatedsmile
Bill Phillips: Not exactly the Spithead review is it?
looks very nice in b/w
Bill Phillips: Thanks Ayush. I thought b&w suited it
