Life as it used to be, it is so pleasing this place survived & wasn't knocked down during the years of closure. My R Storey might recognise this place because I took him there
Bill Phillips: It is a great little railway line

My ambition in life was to always work behind a "Position closed" window in a Post office maybe. This would eb the enxt best thing. There was a nice fire on one of my visits. I've yet to ride on the railway, though.
Bill Phillips: It's a nice little trip to Swanage and back....or vice versa

A nice little pocket of the past Bill. Got a "wild west" feel about it
Bill Phillips: Now you mention it it has Janet
That's the kind of flooring I remember from such places - and the smell of paraffin!
Bill Phillips: Paraffin is an almost unsmelt smell these days.
Rather splendid in its way. Somehow far more inviting, the feeling of starting an adventure and not just commuting.
Bill Phillips: A feeling of reliability about it.

Ah, those were the days. Lovely picture
Bill Phillips: In the heyday of the railways but post war it all got pretty awful
very authentic isn't it, only the racks of leaflets give it away.
Bill Phillips: Just needs a machine selling Paynes poppets!
I wouldn't want to have to wait too long on that bench. Nice atmosphere about this.
Bill Phillips: Probably more comfortable than it looks.....oh I don't know though grin

Very fine pic, Bill.

I was pre-occupied pulling levers in the signal box so didn't go to the ticket office.
Bill Phillips: Lucky you...I did hear there had been a train crash there this year...
