nice view Bill, looks like not all passengers have yet boarded
Bill Phillips: Shortly after the train was pretty full!
Some luxury it looks like!
Bill Phillips: And that is only a third class carriage. Mind you by this time there wasn't a second class one

This is a wonderful railway car Bill... the seats look like elaborate wingback chairs....petersmile
Bill Phillips: They were very comfortable Peter

Why is that man peeing on the floor?
Bill Phillips: I shall treat this remark with the contempt it deserves
What a wonderful presentation of this old car Bill!
Bill Phillips: Thanks Richard. They were very handsome carriages
Very fun, Bill, especially in B&W. I think we can all relate to it!
Bill Phillips: The carriages had style Ginnie

Obviously the beginning of a day out, Bill. You weren't slow in boarding
Bill Phillips: We don't 'ang about Lisl

I hope he got off in time before they closed the door again.
Love this kind of view. Great shot and perfect in B&W.
Bill Phillips: All those empty seats but he couldn't make his mind up

Just think the ceiling used to drip with nicotine. Sorry, not a thought for Monday morning.

Charming B&W though.
Bill Phillips: I hadn't thought about that. A lot of smokers would sit in non-smoking so that they could travel in a clean carriage and then walk up to a smoking carriage and have a fag in the corridor
bet you got the best fare with such a demand...
Bill Phillips: It was full shortly afterwards. We got a free ride because I won a competition grin
Not the rush hour then, Bill.
Bill Phillips: A few minutes later the train was pretty full!

Must be first class
Bill Phillips: Third Class Ridge. Remember there was no second class
I guess he's going to bag his space at the window in the vestibule before somebody else gets there.
Bill Phillips: I think he was heading for the toilet!

Lovely .... no commuters on their laptops
Bill Phillips: This is a reminder of the age when people read books or newspapers on the train...or just enjoyed the view
Ah! Takes me back - what a decline the railways have gone into!
Bill Phillips: I used to love to travel by train but not now....well not in this country anyway

I like looking through a train like this, Bill...like peering into a person's throat.
Bill Phillips: I hadn't thought of it like that Ray
