Did you open the box before you got home, Bill, and riffle through the crystals to try to find the free picture card?
Bill Phillips: They used to give away plastic flowers with Daz!
Makes for a very cool - vintage like image!
Bill Phillips: Plenty of vintage around here E.
you framed this perfectly Bill... you find the greatest things to photograph....peter:0
Bill Phillips: Hahaha Thank you Peter

I remember them but I cannot for the life of me remember what you do with the stuff. Maybe it'd be good on Cornflakes..
Bill Phillips: The clue is on the packet

I,too, can remember Soda and Hofmanns Stärke and the washboard - a stressful work to do the laundry in former times! The tools here look rather like gardener's stuff.
Bill Phillips: They certainly look like watering cans Philine, perhaps they mixed the soda in them to add to the wash
Does this series go on much longer.
Bill Phillips: If it is annoying you .....then yes

This is a lovely shot - enough said.

PS Carry on as long as you like Bill.
Bill Phillips: Thanks Mike. I have a couple more from Berrington, but not tomorrow.

I can remember my mother could do with some now; good for getting greasy marks from the grouting on kitchen floor tiles, I understand. We have it easy these days, don't we, in comparison with this.
Bill Phillips: We still use them. Good for grease!! Getting rid of it that is!
Still use them for cleaning the Heritage Tomato seed I grow, works like a dream.
Bill Phillips: We still use them. Good for cleaning down the sink wastepipe

I remember soda crystals too Bill, quite soapy.
Bill Phillips: I thought you said soppy at first!
Thank heavens for technology, Bill.
Lovely shot.
Bill Phillips: Oh indeed Pauline grin
I am glad laundry is still not done the old way.
Bill Phillips: I suspect you are not alone Mary
I can't remember buying them but I can remember my Mum buying them together with Reckitts blue bags.
Bill Phillips: Ah yes good old Reckitts blue. Which was all the amazing "blue whitener" in Daz was!

I can't remember these, but I remember the little blue Reckitt's bags.
Bill Phillips: They were one of the few "finished products ICI sold. Along with Savlon and Dulux paint!
Vintage is right!
Bill Phillips: But a good vintage Tom wink
You can still buy soda crystals, still life in the scullery.
